Choosing the Model
For buildings up to 22m high (roughly 7 storeys), our articulating boom lift range (AB14EJ through AB22EJ+) covers the working height with room to spare. Articulating models can position the platform precisely alongside the facade even when the machine is positioned several metres back from the building line.
For taller buildings, the AB25J or AB46RJ telescopic models provide the reach, though on densely built sites in Baku the outreach limitations of telescopic models should be checked against the building's setback from the street.
Positioning the Machine
The critical calculation for facade work is the working envelope: at what combination of height and horizontal reach can the platform be positioned?
Consult the machine's operating chart (provided with every rental). For a 22m working height with 5m horizontal outreach, check the load chart confirms the platform is within the rated zone.
Ground support is critical. The machine's stabiliser pads must rest on firm ground. On Baku's older street infrastructure, check for cellars and underground service tunnels before positioning. Use outrigger mats if the ground is soft.
Practical Considerations for Baku Sites
- Traffic management: many Baku commercial buildings are on busy streets — coordinate with relevant authorities for temporary road/pavement closures if outriggers will be on the road
- Overhead lines: Baku has significant overhead utility infrastructure; check for low-voltage and telecoms lines before raising the boom
- Working hours: noise from diesel models may be restricted in residential areas in Baku — confirm with your site manager
