Choosing the wrong scissor lift can mean a machine that won't fit through your building entrance, can't reach your ceiling, or struggles on your site surface. This guide walks you through the key decisions before you rent.
Step 1: Know Your Working Height
The first question is how high you need to work. Scissor lift working height refers to the maximum height a person can reach standing on the platform with arms raised — typically platform height + 2m.
- Up to 10m working height: GTJZ0407SE, GTJZ0607SE — standard warehouse and commercial building maintenance
- 10–12m: GTJZ0808, GTJZ1012 — high-bay warehouses, industrial facilities
- 12–14m: GTJZ1212, GTJZ1414 — large industrial buildings, tall commercial projects
Always add a margin: if your ceiling is 9m, a 10m-working-height machine gives you comfortable reach without working at maximum extension.
Step 2: Indoor or Outdoor?
Electric scissor lifts are designed for flat, hard indoor surfaces. They are zero-emission and quiet — suitable for occupied commercial buildings, hospitals, and food processing facilities. They cannot safely operate on unpaved ground or slopes.
Diesel rough-terrain scissor lifts (the RD series) handle outdoor construction sites with compacted earth, gravel, and gentle slopes. If your project is split between indoors and outdoors, ask about our dual-fuel hybrid models.
Step 3: Platform Size and Capacity
Standard scissor lift platforms hold 230–450kg depending on model. If you need to carry two workers plus heavy tools or materials, check the total weight carefully. For large platforms needed for team work, the GTJZ1212 and GTJZ1414 offer extended deck options.
Width is also critical: our narrowest model (GTJZ0407SE) is 820mm wide. A standard internal door in a commercial building is typically 900–1000mm clear. Measure your narrowest access point before booking.
Step 4: Rental Duration
For projects under a week, daily rental is convenient. For projects of two weeks or more, monthly rental is significantly cheaper and includes free delivery in Baku. Planning a phased construction project? Ask about long-term rental rates.
