Rented equipment that breaks down on site costs you time and, depending on your rental agreement, may result in damage charges. Our maintenance team shares five habits that keep equipment running throughout a rental period.
1. Charge Electric Machines Overnight
This is the most common cause of equipment downtime on Azerbaijani construction sites. Electric scissor lifts and mast lifts have sufficient battery capacity for a normal working day — but only if started with a full charge.
Connect the charger at the end of each working day. Leave it connected overnight. The machine's built-in charger management prevents overcharging. Do not rely on partial charges between shifts.
2. Inspect the Tyres at the Start of Each Day
Flat or damaged tyres are a safety issue and a common damage charge. Construction sites in Azerbaijan often have concrete rebar, broken glass, and metal debris on the ground.
Walk around the machine and check tyre condition before the first lift of each day. For pneumatic tyres, check the pressure if a gauge is available. For solid foam-filled tyres, check for cuts and sidewall damage. Report any damage to us immediately — do not continue using a machine with a compromised tyre.
3. Keep the Battery Terminals Clean
Battery terminal corrosion reduces charging efficiency and can cause false fault readings on electric machines. At least once per week, visually inspect the battery terminals for white or greenish build-up. If corrosion is present, contact us for guidance — do not attempt to clean terminals without proper equipment.
4. Keep the Machine Clean and Dry
Construction sites are dusty and muddy. Dust and moisture ingress into the control panels, hydraulic connections, and battery compartments is a common cause of electronic faults.
After work in dusty or wet conditions, wipe down the control panels and keep the machine under cover if possible. Do not pressure-wash control boxes or battery compartments.
5. Report Problems Immediately
If the machine shows a fault indicator, behaves unexpectedly, or makes unusual sounds — stop work and call us. Do not attempt to diagnose or override fault codes. Do not continue working with a machine that is not performing correctly.
